Where the Maker Meets the Stone
Every piece begins with two things — the maker and the stone.
I’m Kelly Collins Wood, and I create handcrafted jewelry inspired by the natural beauty and individuality of turquoise. I’m drawn to stones that have a story to tell — their color, their matrix, their character, and the place they came from.
I’m still learning about turquoise, and that’s part of what I love about it. There are so many mines, varieties, and stories within this incredible stone that there is always something new to discover. Whenever possible, I purchase my turquoise directly from mine owners or trusted lapidary artists, so I can share what I know about where each stone began its journey.
When I choose a stone, I don’t always start with a design in mind. Sometimes the stone tells me what it wants to become. The colors, shape, matrix, and character of the turquoise guide me toward the silver, copper, texture, and details that will bring it to life.
My jewelry is handmade one piece at a time, with each stone treated as an individual rather than simply another component. My hope is that when you wear one of my pieces, you feel a connection not only to the jewelry, but to the stone itself and the story it carries.
My maker’s mark is the feather with the initials KCW, representing Kelly Collins Wood. I hand-stamp my mark onto my pieces as a personal signature of the work that comes from my hands.
Thank you for choosing handmade and for giving one of my pieces a place in your story.
From mine to you,
Kelly Collins Wood
