KINGMAN TURQUOISE

Kingman turquoise mine is located in northwestern Arizona and is one of the oldest, largest and last remaining commercially producing turquoise mines in the US. Located in the Cerbat Mountains and in the Mineral Park Mining District about 14 miles northwest of Kingman Arizona.

Native Americans first worked the site over 1,000 years ago with artifacts and stone hammers dating back to around 600-1000 AD.

The mine is owned and operated by the Colbaugh Family and is not open to the public, however they do have a store in Kingman where their turquoise can be purchased.

I love Kingman turquoise because it has a beautiful variance of blues. From the beautiful light green seafoam to the deep rich blues.

I have purchased the majority of my Kingman directly from the mine owners. However, some are from reputable lapidary artist as well.
